High-Stakes Humbling: The Cost of Ignoring Your Own Stop-Loss

  • Had probably my most humbling experience this year. After dropping a few hands at a high-stakes blackjack table, I thought I could sharp-shoot my way back—spoiler: I couldn’t 😓. Every double down and aggressive bet just pumped more into the void. Tip: setting a real stop-loss. Sounds simple, but sticking to it? A whole different game. I usually give myself 2 “reload attempts”—after that, I walk. Without rules, emotion takes the wheel 🫠. Can’t win ’em all, but no reason to hand ’em your whole ammo box!
